We promise extraordinary operatic arias and duets, notable chamber music, soul-stirring classical guitar, fabulous cello and of course the spirited conducting of the Philharmonic Orchestra of the Americas as Alondra de la Parra leads the musicians through musical pieces that will delight our audience.

The Music Festival of the Americas will expand to four days, August 18-21, and performances will again take place at 8:00 pm at Symphony Court, Topnotch Resort & Spa.

Wednesday, August 18th, Ms. de la Parra will conduct the POA Chamber Orchestra and instruct the audience with “Conducting 101."

Thursday, August 19th will find Ms. de la Parra conducting the full orchestra, joined by soprano Jennifer Lynn Waters and baritone Oleskandr Pushniak from Placido Domingo’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program.

Friday, August 20th, Ms. de la Parra and the orchestra will accompany classical guitarist Pablo Sáinz Villegas and feature Philharmonic Orchestra of the America’s own principal cellist, Ben Capps.

Our grand finale on Saturday, August 21st heats up the rhythms as Anything Goes! – a night of diverse musical styles, dancing and festivities. Rum and tequila, caipirinhas and mojitos! Finally, a chance to kick off your shoes and samba, cha-cha, salsa, merengue - you name it.  This will be the best party Stowe has seen in years!

The orchestra members—all under the age of 35, and from twenty different countries—abandon their classical chops and go to the “dark side” of Latin, rock, Rhythm & Blues—anything goes! And don’t miss the special guest appearance of Mexican recording artist Mane de la Parra and his band as they join his sister, Alondra, and the POA musicians.

As part of its mission to cultivate a life-long love of music, the Music Festival of the Americas will donate twenty-five percent of the admission revenue from Saturday’s “Anything Goes!” to the Stowe schools’ music programs.
